Apparently my one friend was telling me that her buddy was telling her about a website that has audio recordings that you listen to for about half an hour and it kinda puts you in a hypnotic trance and causes you to trip she was saying you could choose like lsd, shrooms, mescaline etc. i dont really believe it but i thought itd be worth an ask

I believe it's called iDoser, and it has been quite a buzz, I believe it's based on the theory of bineural tones (sp?) which would be able to change the "frequency" of our brain to those achieved during the effects of certain drugs, which I think is just a bit more than doing nothing

There's a bit more to it, but nothing to special, a bit of wikipedia on the subject should satisfy your curiosity hehe

greets!

hmm ill let you know what its like after i use a couple "free doses"

They are called binaural beats.

You can get a free program for generating them here
http://uazu.net/sbagen/

From wikipedia
Brainwave synchronization (entrainment) may be achieved when audio signals are introduced to the brain causing a response directly related to the frequency of the signal introduced, called binaural beats. Two tones close in frequency generate a beat frequency at the difference of the frequencies, which is generally subsonic. For example, a 500 Hz tone and 510 Hz tone will produce a subsonic 10 Hz tone, roughly in the middle of the alpha range. The resulting subsonic tone may affect the state of mind of the subject. The "carrier frequency" (i.e. the 500 Hz in the example above), is also said by some to affect the quality of the transformative experience.[citation needed] Although some studies have reported that these frequencies do provide help in treating certain medical conditions,[2] there is not a wide acceptance by the medical community to adopt the practice of brainwave synchronization for emotional/mental disorders. The fixed, constant frequency of the synchronization is less helpful than techniques such as classical neurofeedback or learning meditation, which naturally generate brain wave frequencies that differ from person to person and may vary from minute to minute..

Edit: Make magazine did a whole thing on it. They even might have something about it on their site.

This was discussed at length in a thread here a few days ago . Its cheep and nasty adverts , it doesnt work . But if you want to throw your money away , do it but please tell us about it so other people dont make the same mistake .

I believe I-doser is a pos that doesn't even have the courage to admit that all it is, is a knock off of sbagen with some sound files that don't work.

That being said I do believe that their might be some validity to binaural beats. I've also noticed some interesting effects when messing around with sbagen. I think it's worth messing around with and has potential especially with the free program (ok so it's released under the gnu license).

You don't need headphones, but it's not like when you make binaural beats/frequencies that it automaticly has it's effect on your brainwaves.

From Idoser some do "work" although I hate the fact that it's distributed like some kind of drugs, with names of real drugs.
BS mofo's!

There are cd's with brainwave "music" though.
Although it's usually made by people who know the technical aspects of sound and binaural "imaging" but those people usually have no feeling for music...

It's also a way to record sounds and make them sound 3D while actually being played in stereo (stereo image)

So... I'd say go with a brainmachine ;)

It's just a way of getting your brains to work in a specific frequency...

The thing is, you can find all this stuff for free on the internet, try wikipedia for instance...
