I have grown a spot in my mind and in my heart to the moods accessible in our mind-world that just the right kind of music can bring about (+weed/etc).

Lately my right kind of music has been minimalistic layers of intricate, trippy sounds that when I close my eyes and turn the lights off put me somewhere nice where I feel floating and reflecting about my own awareness :)

Or I can just play it at low volume while on the pc and be in a really good mood, doing stuff, the music can be at ease in the background but once in a while I notice this little sound here or there and I'll like it.

These are what I've really liked and gotten into (I've heard more but these are the favorites):

----Aphex's Selected Ambient Works Vol. 2

----Brian Eno's Music For Airports

----Ishq's Orchid (+ I really love the track "Sol")

---Steve Roach's performance in the Great Cathedral (I saw it here in some thread, is a youtube video)

And... this thread is an excuse for you out there to recommend me some good ambient or similar that you think I'll like (...I'm looking at space....)

Steve Roach - Structures from Silence (Highly recommanded, when using shrooms)
Sophia - Herbstwerk
Coil - Astral Disaster
Musick to Play in the Dark Volume One & Two
Stars of the Lid - And Their Refinement of the Decline

bluemars.org

Just to name a few..

I really enjoy Carbon Based Lifeforms, they are really good. and Coil is very nice too, especially their album time machines.

Nice list!

DAMNIT, I had a whole list and then it didn't get through and now I've lost it

too bad... you're re-making it... right?

So far I've checked Structures from Silence and I've liked it very much, thanks pompiedom!

When I get back from my job-interview I'm re-doing the list

I listened to Reflections in Suspension during a 90 gram mushroom trip
It was the best!
It wasn't even music anymore, it was a warm blanket that was around me.
But I have to go to a job interview, I'll make the list later on the day ;)

Good luck with the interview Space!

Good luck as well, mate... I thought you worked in a music store?

I've listened to the following tune for the first shroom trips I've had.
And it's so deep and meditative.
I really love it!

Tim Hecker - Chimeras

Most stuff of Tim Hecker is really nice to listen to for a trip.

I see someone mentioned Brian Eno, he's really good too. :)
He has done some collaborations with Harold Budd, who has made some really impressive work himself as well!

Just watched that video... liked it too, thanks :)

I'm trying to check all the other stuff that's been posted but I'm slow so don't think I asked for stuff just because... I'll try to remember to post my opinions when I listen to more stuff

edit: ahhh Harold Budd is the guy from Ambient 2 The Plateau Of Mirrors! I thought of putting that album in my first post but I wanted to keep it short and sweet (plus I'd already listed Ambient 1). I love his subtle piano!

Hi ???????? !

Brian Eno is really cool, if you like this kind of music, I can recommend you :

- Carbon Based Lifeforms !! (especially the "World of Sleepers" album)
- Hol Baumann / Vibrasphere / Sync24 / Asura etc.==> You should take a look at Ultimae Records website, they propose sound extracts from every composer, I think you'll really love it
- The complete collection of "Chillout Moods"
- You can download winamp, go the internet radios, and type "ambient" or "atmospheric" and you'll find a bunch of interesting radios playing ambient music continuously.

Peace and Love ;)
