Ive been looking into alchemy lately, I am trying to understand It first thru a view of basic chemistry, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alchemical_symbol , learning about symbols and what they represent, taking notes on the scientific facts of those things as well as the religious aspects and finding the connections I can, I then plan to look more into the religious(of course cause of my natural agnosticism and agreement with the base theory of the chaots fake it to make it I will attempt to integrate into my natural beliefs and view of gods) and practicing sense. Any one have some good links? I might gather the energy to transcribe my notes they are on paper. I gathered allot(to me at least) of information from lots of webpages into a single set of somewhat orderly notes, no tut but a overview of key subjects that stuck out to me. Plan on going to library soon.

^just search there lots of random info on about^

Its hard finding decent results in google on this subject, im working on a book torrent at the moment as well.

Why alchemy?
Why not chemistry?

Its cause Im interested in the religious symbolism of it all, connected with real chemistry, and psychology. Alchemy is a mix of all the sciences with a splash of religion, ridiculous symbolism and psychology. Here's some strange things. Men have 1/3rd more iron in blood than women, It is consider a masculine metal dominated by Mars, which is red from iron oxidization, alchemical symbol for Mars is current symbol for male. Women have 20% more copper in their blood serum, copper is considered a feminine metal dominated by Venus, alchemical symbol for Venus is current symbol for female. I guess the answer is cause Im crazy and I love looking into symbolism which is basically what its all about. Also alchemy was used by some people to achieve Gnosis its way more religion than science.

Also if any of you happen to know a site, book, or just random facts about sciences connections to religion id love to see it/ hear them.

This is unrelated, believe me:

Friend told me the best book he ever read was "The Alchemist"

No sarcasm.
