Ok, so one of my roommates got into trouble for sale of cocaine and went to prison. Apparently he is out now, and will be moving back in under house arrest. Now my apartment is lived in by myself and 2 other psychonauts, so you can imagine there is a good chance something illicit is in the house at all times.
I've been told a parole officer can come into the house whenever he pleases. This doesn't worry me, because we do not leave anything out in the open. My main concern is whether or not my roommate or his room could be tapped or bugged. I'm basically asking if anyone knows if the police have this power in the United States.
For instance, if I talk about taking LSD and a mic in his room picks up the conversation, could the police use this to at the least investigate me? I'd really love to know what type of survellience is used on people under house arrest, especially for narcotics, when they are living in an area of high controlled substance use.
