i've found my mushrooms back, they're 8 years old.
does anyone know what happens with the mushrooms when they're 8 years old? is the psilocybine dead, or is it heavier? is it still there? is it active? or less active? or more active?
should i give it to my mom or is worth it to eat them myself?
i am really curious

I take it these mushrooms were dried.. ?
8 years is a long time... i`m affraid that most of the active substance pretty much died out:)

It depends a lot of the conditions where they were stored. In an airtight container, protected from light and heat, the potency is decreased at a much more lower rate than it would be if exposed to those factors.

So if the material itself seems okay, there might be some point in trying them out. Most likely they have lost a great deal of their potency, but chances are you are able to get something out of them.

Yes just try it out, perhaps you have to take a bit more. But correctly stored it should stay active for years.

true just try it :)
but 8 years is a long time i'd say
but u say I "found" em so u lost em before ??
I guess u stored em too well then :)
so maybe theres a chance..
u might not wanna give em to your mom just yet hehe

No harm in trying.

Some species of psilocybin mushrooms can keep for long and some can't unless airtight in freezer. If they are cubensis at room temperature they're pretty much useless after 6 months.

It's been over a month now.
Have you tried them? And how was the experience?
How did you preserve them?

i lost them again

How on earth is it possible you found dried mushrooms after 8 years and then lose them again?

I think you've been eating too much of those shrooms.

hah good one, i suppose this is unconscious
