36hour DOI trip.

hey all, i have been reading round the forums and finally decided to sign up after my weekends expierence for some help as i could not really find any on the net.

last weekend i tried a trip for the first 2nd time. my first time lasted about 15 hours and was very similer to this one, but alot easier to handle, (note i did not have an out of body exp. on this trip) i was also unsure of wat chemical it was, i suspect either lsd or dob.

Anyway to the point, after trying for weeks to obtain some sort of trip, i finally got a hold of some DOI 30 hour trips. thinking it would be the same as my last i did not think about taking to much and off i went. this trip however was so incredibly stronger and longer i almost could not handle it.
It kiked in about 1.5 h after digestion. i halicanted extrememly for 15 hours and lightly for the another 20 hours. the first 15h was the best thing i had every expierienced. uncontrollable lafter and the most butifull colours,glows and patterns i had ever see.

The other half consisted of the worst feeling i had every felt. Time had complelty stopped and i was unsure when this was goin to ware off (thinking it was a 20hour trip) leaving me terrified. all the butifull colours disapeared and everything seemed frightening or really dirty. i waited anxiously for what seemed like 5 days till i literally passed out from echaustion. i felt very traumatised the next day ( i think as i have never been traumatised before)

what i would like to know is if this was a bad trip or just some frightening parts. if it turned bad half way. and how strong it was to last 36 hours. note that 36 hours was untill the visuals stopped and i could think, just.

Never had DOI nor even heard one single report from one's first hand.

If you look to Shulgin's comment*, he particulary refers to the very sophisticated, long-lasting and powerful visionary, and also adresses the clean qualities of this psychedelic which you have experienced if I'm interpretating it correctly.

However, it looks like DOI produces a powerful and long-lasting experience which requires a lot of energy from the brain. After acid, I'm quite knackered and that's a short experience compared to DOI.

After 15 hours your brains must have had immense activity while the substance hadn't even reached 50 procent if it's duration. Attempting to sleep or getting tired with a running psychedelic turns out into a torture to the brain and the experience is getting more powerful and in some way, more reality overwriting.

Time lose or frozen time is common on every psychedelic during an intens experience. It implies the absence of self judgement. However, I think your brain just got exhausted and that turns every experience into a grey, dark, ugly and later a frighting experience. In fact, exhaustion is considered as unhealthy to the body and mind, and anything unhealthy mentally or physically is answered with an enormous negative response from mind opening psychoactives.

*(with 3.0 mg) This is a clear, clean psychedelic. The eyes-closed imagery is excellent, with clearly delineated patterns, pictures, and colors. Perfect for an artist, and next time I'll devote some time to painting. Total ease for the body, but no help for my smoking problem. I still want to smoke. And at sixteen hours into this I am still at 1.5+ but I'll try to go to bed anyway, and sleep.

(with 3.5 mg) I was at a full crashing +++ for about three or four hours. There was none of the LSD sparkle, but there were moments of `light-headedness' where one could move sideways with reality. I could leave where I was right over there, and come over here and get a strange but authentic view of where the `there' was that I had left. It would be out-of-body, except that the body came over here with me rather than staying there. This doesn't make sense now, but it sure did then. There was no trace of body impact, and I slept late that evening, but with some guardedness due to the intense imagery. This was no more intense than with 3.0 milligrams, but it was a little bit more to the unreal side.
